Summer mornings are my favorite part of the day. Coffee, journaling, and a little work on the deck before the kids wake up. Slow and quiet, exactly how I like it.

But this morning, my littlest man woke up screaming because he couldn't find me, and he thought I'd left him.

Which, okay, there's a backstory...so I understand.

Last summer, we were all outside doing our own thing when my mother-in-law called and told us the boat lift had broken, and the boat had dropped into the water. So, naturally, we all took off toward the dock to grab the boat...

About ten minutes in, she turns to me and goes, "Is Cruz taking a nap?"

Um nope...I forgot him.

​Worst mother of the year moment.

In all the chaos of everyone running for the boat, my 4-year-old got left behind. I ran back up the driveway and found him standing there by himself, crying, because he thought we'd all just left him.

I felt AWFUL. 😩

So this morning, when he woke up, and I was already outside working, that's exactly where his brain went. I went in, scooped him up, and brought him back out with me. He fell asleep on me for another hour while I worked, drank my coffee, and listened to the birds.

And the best part? I didn't have to pick between being with him and getting my work done.

Which is exactly what I keep thinking about with this week's blog, and exactly why I'm building my business like this. Freedom.

🌿 What I'm loving right now:

I'm going to keep loving up on Jamie and Vallie. I've been seeing them for acupuncture, and my PMS symptoms are basically gone, the night sweats, the headaches, the fatigue I used to just live with. We also took our son to see Grace, their nutritionist, for his chronic sinus infections, and it cleared right up.

With the BioScan, we can see where the inflammation is and what his body needs. Most recently, he was so tired all the time, so we took him to Grace, and she found Lyme's in his system. Now we're able to treat him for that with herbs and skip the antibiotics.
